Caruthersville High School
Caruthersville, Missouri
DESCRIPTION
2007 - 2010
Replacement of a historic high school damaged by a tornado. A2H Engineers was the prime. Ben Witt was the architect of record. Debbie Ross was the Interior Architect of record.

The new high school replaced the storm-damaged facility, incorporating salvaged terracotta elements from the original exterior to preserve its historic character. The design reflects the charm of the former school while creating a connected, walkable presence within the community. Interior features include terrazzo flooring, a grand staircase, and a richly detailed lobby, along with a new gymnasium constructed as part of the project’s phased implementation.
